Terms of Service
Effective March 30, 2026
Welcome to Snailmail
Snailmail is an AI-powered email cleanup service that connects to your Gmail account and automatically identifies and unsubscribes you from unwanted newsletters, marketing emails, and spam. By creating an account or using Snailmail in any way, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Snailmail is operated by Jeffrey Mailey ("we," "us," "our"). You can reach us at jmail@maileyai.com.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Snailmail. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using Snailmail, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are also responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at jmail@maileyai.com.
You may only connect Gmail accounts that you own or have explicit authorization to manage. Connecting someone else's Gmail account without their permission is a violation of these terms.
What Snailmail does
When you connect your Gmail account, Snailmail will:
- Scan your email metadata (sender, subject, headers, snippet) to identify unwanted messages
- Automatically unsubscribe from emails it classifies as spam, newsletters, or marketing
- Apply Gmail labels (such as "Gary-Scanned" and "Gary-Unsubscribed") to organize processed messages
- Flag uncertain emails for your manual review before taking action
You can adjust how aggressively Snailmail operates through the spam appetite settings in your dashboard. You can also whitelist senders, blocklist domains, pause the service, or disconnect your Gmail at any time.
What Snailmail does NOT do
Snailmail does not read the full body content of your emails. It does not delete emails permanently (unsubscribed emails are archived and labeled, not destroyed). It does not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third party. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Gmail access and permissions
Snailmail connects to your Gmail through Google's OAuth 2.0 system. This means you grant specific permissions through Google's own consent screen. We never see or store your Google password.
You can revoke Snailmail's access to your Gmail at any time by disconnecting from the Snailmail dashboard or removing Snailmail from your Google Account permissions.
Snailmail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Subscription and billing
Snailmail offers a paid subscription plan billed monthly through Stripe. When you subscribe, you agree to the following:
- Your payment method will be charged at the start of each billing cycle
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the next billing date
- You can manage your subscription, update payment details, or cancel at any time through the billing portal in your dashboard
- If a payment fails, your subscription may be paused and the Snailmail engine will stop running until payment is resolved
Pricing may change in the future. If it does, we will notify you in advance and any price increase will only apply to your next billing cycle after the notice period.
Refunds
Because Snailmail performs real actions on your behalf (unsubscribing from emails), we generally do not offer refunds for time already used. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevented the service from working, contact us and we will work with you to make it right.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Snailmail to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Access or manage Gmail accounts you do not own or have authorization to manage
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the service
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, its servers, or connected networks
- Use the service in any way that could harm other users or overload our infrastructure
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to Snailmail without our written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Service availability
We do our best to keep Snailmail running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from temporary downtime.
Limitation of liability
Snailmail is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to: emails that were incorrectly unsubscribed, missed emails, or any disruption to your email workflow.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Snailmail shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Your content and data
You retain ownership of all your data. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your email content or account information. When you delete your account or disconnect Gmail, we remove your stored data from our systems.
Termination
You may stop using Snailmail and close your account at any time. We may also suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service. If we decide to shut down Snailmail, we will provide reasonable notice so you can export or manage your data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the Snailmail dashboard. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
